Locking in the hard work
Once the plants establish and emerge a follow up preventative release spray is often needed, sometimes 2 years after initial planting. Koroneiki Developments makes regular site visits to make sure appropriate weed management decisions are made. Typically weeds should not be allowed to grow more than 15cm high around the plant in the first year of growth. This is to ensure maximum kill when spraying.
Spraying around each plant to suppress weed growth.
If rank grass is too high during the first release spray manual release scrubbing or flattening of the grass is often required before the herbicide is applied.
Staking allows you to find the plants through tall grass which makes it easier for post planting maintenance. Large specimen trees may also require staking to provide support.
Provides protection from grazing pests such as rabbits and hares. We use biodegradable FiberGuards which provide protection up to 24 months.
Projects will fail during this stage if not properly managed. Weeds have an unfair advantage and can outcompete slow growing native seedlings very quickly. We will provide a management plan for your project based on our initial site visit.
